«The FotoKafe at PhotoCenter.ru's southwest location purports to be the world's first photography cafe. Sounds far-fetched? May be but I have to admit that after a recent visit I was convinced that this variant of cafe-cum-photo lab could truly be one of a kind. It's so technologically advanced that I had to check to be sure that I was still in Moscow and had not been teleported to Tokyo.
... The idea is for friends to gather and edit their photos from recent parties or travels together while enjoying their favorite caffeinated beverages.
... we used the friendly, Macintosh-style interactive menu to click on our coffee selections. A waitress soon arrived with our cold drinks and collected our rolls of film and the flash card from digital camera. Within few minutes she returned with flash card, and an electronic folder containing our photos in digital form appeared on our screen.
After studying the photos, we selected a few good shots to crop and edit using a special scale that tells the client just how much the photo can be enlarged or reduced without significantly affecting pixel size and hereby print quality. With a few more clicks of the mouse, we sent the photos to print and in flash the waitress delivered our printed photos on a tray.

« ... Even before there used to exist various shops where you could make prints from your digital camera but to unite all the capacities of digital pictures processing and printing and also make the whole process so convenient and quick — such a thing has never been seen before...
P.S. By the way, before making acquaintance with PhotoCenter.ru I tried to use my home photo-printer***. And I confess that the quality of photos made on it is far from PhotoCenter quality. I am not speaking about the cost of such home experiments: they are 3 times more expensive and you have no discount for jokes. Fortunately, at the same printer I can now print out the number and the bar-code of my Internet-orders »
